Oh, how I love these Lost King MC characters. Each book introduces me to a new character or gives me more info about an existing one, and I love them too. As the family grows, so does my addiction to this series.
Beyond Reason is part two of Teller’s story. So make sure you read Beyond Reckless first. I’m sure that most reading this review already have, so you know that Teller is Heidi’s brother. Teller’s baby sister is married to his best friend Murphy. They’ve all three known each other from childhood, so you can imagine the hilarious banter they throw back and forth. I found them highly entertaining and they gave me many giggles throughout the book. Which was really nice as the hard stuff got harder. The author tackles some serious situations that fueled my anger and had my heart hurting.
Teller is still recovering from his injury and working his way back to being able to ride with his brothers. His relationship with Charlotte has brought light back into his dark world. He’s found something to smile about again. The only problem is her affiliation with a rival club. She can’t help who she’s related to, but it sure makes it hard to trust her. How will he be able to convince his brothers that she’s trustworthy? Well, there’s always the #TawnyTest, right?
I’ve been #TeamTeller from the get-go. Yeah, I admit I was a little peeved at him when he didn’t jump on board as soon as I wanted when his baby sister fell in love. But that’s typical older brother behavior, always protective, never considering anyone good enough. Do you think it’s karma when he ends up in a similar situation? Falling for a girl and having to convince his club that she’s good enough? Well, you are in for a treat, because she handles that pretty well all by herself. One of my favorite Lost King memories is how Wrath gave Hope such a hard time when she fell for the club president. He pushed her hard and had me ranting at him for being such a jerk. Well, let’s just say that he hasn’t changed… Charlotte might be able to prove her loyalty to the club if she can survive the wrath of Wrath.
As Charlotte continues to see Teller, against her family’s wishes, secrets start to unravel. Pushing for the truth can sometimes be more than you can handle, but there’s no turning back time. Will she be able to live with the answers to the questions that have tormented her for years? Will the reality be worse than her fears? Will knowing the truth help her to move on, or keep her from moving on?
What a ride the author took me on. I really love how the author explains her thought process as the story is developing and shares it with her readers at the end of her
