You want some?

She snarls those words at him with barely concealed hostility the moment he arrives at her window to ask for her license and registration.

After a few choice words, he lets her go with not one ticket, but three.

Next time she should check the attitude at the door and realize that he’s a cop, and just doing his job.

Come get some.

Fast forward a week, and he’s still unable to think about anything else but her and her bad attitude—oh, and those sexy lips, angry eyes, and her promise to make his life hell.

Knowing he should stay away, he takes a step back and tries not to think about anything that has to do with those long legs, and that mouth that could be used for much better things than spewing venom.
Then she makes a mistake.

At an interview, she rattles off a random number to use as a reference for a job that she desperately needs, and that number just happens to be Johnny’s.

She’ll regret being so rude, and one day she’ll think twice when she decides to throw attitude toward a man like him.

Vowing to make her life hell, he decides to have a little fun.

Never get enough.

What he doesn’t expect is to fall for her.

The more Johnny learns about June, the deeper he digs his hole. Soon, he doesn’t know which way is up, and he’s just fine with that.

Over time, he learns that not everyone bothers to dig past her prickly demeanor and get to the woman that lives deeper.

When one too many citizens of Hostel, Texas tries to back her against the wall, he’s had enough.

After all, you don’t mess with what’s his.

“Mr. Good Intentions was gone. In his place was Mr. Get You Some.”

I can’t seem to get enough of Lani Lynn Vale, just seeing her name gets me excited because I know she’s got something good in the works and coming my way. She magically keeps coming up with new original stories and they all have amazing characters, tackle serious issues, and still manage to include fun and humor. She makes me worry and wait while the suspense builds, but she also rewards me with sweet sexy times and smiles. Yup, can’t get enough…

Of course, Johnny and June belong together, right? How perfect those names are, making me smile every time I think about it. After meeting June, I honestly couldn’t blame her for the attitude she threw when getting stopped for going only 4 miles over the speed limit. But having two other tickets added to the pile when you don’t have a job to cover the bills you already have, not good. The only good thing about that traffic violation experience was the eye candy. Watching #OfficerHottie walk away to run her expired drivers license was almost as good as the view from the front.

Johnny is new in town. He doesn’t know about the scandal that follows her, keeping her from getting a job that she so desperately needs. All he knows is that he can’t stop looking at her, or for her. His eyes are drawn to her and his thoughts are consumed by her. When he sees the locals mistreating her his protective instincts kick in and he’s ready to defend her with more than his badge. She feels like his before their first kiss, and when she comes to his defense she seals her fate. He might have been channeling his namesake Johnny Cash when he told her, “You’re mine”, but he meant it. She might have denied his claim, but she felt it.

This story riled me up and had me ready to tell off some dumbass locals who needed to be set straight. It also broke my heart and soothed my soul. And for some reason, I can’t stop humming “Because you’re mine, I walk the line.” I met some more amazing characters and I was very excited to learn that one of them will be featured in the next book. The line forms here…
