Patrick Kinney wasn't a god. He was a parasite, and nobody worships a parasite.

Patrick Kinney was a glob of sticky, persistent peanut butter stuck to the roof of Kinsey McKenna's mouth, and she craved him.

In fact, she had been craving him ever since he set foot in River Canyon, Connecticut, when they were just three years old. And she hated it ever step of the way. (Well, sort of.)

But Patrick has a plan to fix it, and set the wrong things right. Can he turn it all around with one night and a sweet, but painful, trip down memory lane?

Fall in love again in this novella of firsts, second chances, and a little town on the coast of Connecticut, where everything meant everything.

"Some things were better left alone. Things like hot Irish accents."

One Night to Fall was my first Kelsey Kingsley read. I was intrigued by the synopsis and the fact that it was a novella, allowing me to try a new author for a quick taste of her work. I'm happy to report that I really enjoyed her writing style and sense of humor.

Patrick is a #HotCop being one of only 12 law enforcement officers in their small community. And please note that the other 11 didn't draw the female admirers like he did. Not only was it his tall, muscled physique that was noteworthy, it was his skill at french braiding and manicures that made him a chick magnet. At least he was a magnet for all the chicks except the one whose attention he was trying to get, Kinsey's.

Kinsey fell for Patrick when she was three years old. They were inseparable as kids and shared all their firsts through their teenage years. She thought they would be together forever. And they probably would have, if she hadn't made the biggest mistake of her life. Years of heartache and regret have not lessened the pain of her bad decision. However; now that she's moved back home, she's faced with it daily. With him, the "Irish bastard" that haunted her memories and dreams, and now tortures her in person. She's reminded that, "We never had a choice, we never stood a chance. Our fates were determined the moment I stepped over the invisible line between his front lawn and mine."

I was very amused by her internal dialogue as she always called him an Irish bastard, but it depended on her mood and the situation, what descriptive title he got. #InconsiderateIrishBastard #SneakyIrishBastard #StubbornIrishBastard #ArrogantIrishBastard #CockyIrishBastard

As she shared her memories with me, I fell for him too. And when he pursued her, setting the stage to give her, one night to fall, I fell again... It was a beautiful, heartwarming and heartbreaking story. I was excited to learn at the end that there will be more stories to come. Patrick has some younger twin brothers who have mastered the sexy Irish brogue. I'm looking forward to spending some time with them. The line forms here...

Kelsey Kingsley grew up in the great state of New York, and still lives there with her family and a cat named Ethel. When she isn’t writing her fingers to the bone, she enjoys a good (or bad) book, reruns ofFrasier, ruining the lives of her Sims, and singing and dancing in the kitchen. She somehow survives off a diet of tea, doughnuts, and French fries. However, she hates cheese and listening to people chew. You’ve been warned.
