I am complex.
My love is all-encompassing.
And when it comes to my heart, there is only one rule:
Don’t mess with what’s mine.
Until the age of seven, I was Joel Alexander Donovan, son of Jimmy. The man who terrorized a town and made its citizens fear the very ground he walked on. Including me, the day I realized that ground ran red with blood.
At age eighteen, I became Priest.
A man without a past.
A man determined to right the wrongs of my father.
A man who never believed anyone could love the son of such a monster.
But then a thief stole my heart.
A sweetheart lit up my world.
And I forgot for a moment you should never turn your back on your enemy.
And thus begins a lesson to those who would seek to harm: Never underestimate what the Priest will do to protect the Princess and the Prick.

I have been a fan of Ella Frank's writing ever since I read Try. I feel in love with Logan and Tate and when I hear that the Confessions Series was going to be released I was just as excited. I absolutely loved Robbie and then Priest and Julien entered the mix and made all the more better. Ella has a way with words and grabbing the readers attention in just a few short paragraphs and sucking you in until the very end. Every story is a bit of an emotional roller coaster ride, one filled with plenty of highs and a few lows. All her characters are a little bit broken, some more than others, but we watch/read as they all learn to trust, respect and grow not just as individuals, but as couples. They learn that they can lean on one another through the tough times and then embrace each other through the victories. Priest by far has been the most intriguing character for me in this series. And I feel like his book was more than worth the wait. Ella Frank is hands down one of my Top 10 go to authors. Who knew M/M and M could be so well written, engaging, sexy and honest.
Ths book picks up right where Julien's book left off. Robbie needs space in order to come to terms with the news about Priest's father and the fact that Priest or Juliene never told him. We get to see the more emotional side to Priest's character in this book as well. He becomes depressed over not telling Robbie about his past and wants nothing more than to make things right with him. We get to see as the three of them grow not just as individuals, but also as a couple. These three really have what it takes to go the distance and make their relationship work. It doesn't matter how bent or broken their pasts made them, they learn to trust and overcome the demons and forge ahead to find their happiness. In my opinion, this book was not as sexy and steamy as the prior two, but I can understand why. There is more mystery and intrigue to this book as well. Priest's past is so much more agonizing than the other two and now he has a real threat on his hands. Not just toward himself, but toward the two men that he cares most about in his life and he will go to great lengths to keep them safe. We are introduced to a new character as well and I can only hope that Henri will be getting his own book. I was really happy to read that there will be one more book in the Confessions series, one that will tie up any loose ends and bring the HEA right to the surface.
Overall, Ella Frank has hit another one out of the park. I loved the way this story unfolded and the growth that these three characters have had since the very beginning. It is an emotional roller coaster ride, that I would gladly jump on again and again. Priest is well written, engaging, sweet, funny, sexy and mysterious. Just like the three characters within the pages of the story.
