Maria is everything he’s ever dreamed of, the kill he’s always longed for. She’s not his target. And he knows he must resist. But the temptation is too strong…
Yet Raphael is not the only one with a mission. Maria is not quite what she seems. And as her secrets and Raphael’s unravel, Maria begins to question everything she thought she knew—about evil, about the place she calls home, and about the beautiful sinner she was sent to destroy.

"It was the scars underneath that cut the deepest. The scars that sliced into the soul, that clawed at the flesh of the heart. That mutilated the mind."
Y'all, Tillie Cole done took me to the dark side. And I liked it. If Raphael lives to sin, I live to be in his head when he does it. Don't you just love how we can highlight all the best parts in our Kindle and read them over and over anytime we want? If only there was an audio option with a REPEAT button and I could actually hear Raphael say "Finally...my little rose." over and over again...sigh.
I wish I could tell you what to expect in this story. Nah, that's a lie. I wouldn't do that to you. Half the fun of diving into the darkness is not knowing where you will land, right? If you haven't read The Fallen yet, you need to start there. It explains how they came to be and you need to let that settle in your brain a little. You know, stretch your comfort zone before you go back for more. And let me tell you, Raphael is not only more...it's extra everything that you didn't know you needed or wanted, but wouldn't change if you could. 😉
As I knew was inevitable, the more time I spent with them their demented version of normal became more and more acceptable to me. I wanted to hang out and shoot the shit with them and discuss their hopes and dreams, already knowing they would be bloody. Intrigued is an understatement and I'm excited to know that I'll get the chance to spend more time with each of them to see what lurks behind those cold eyes and hard hearts. And, I'm even more curious to know what it will take to soften them.
Things are getting more and more heated. They might have fallen, and they've already been to hell, but they're not done yet. They have a mission." Now, they were as dark as midnight, not a single star illuminating their godless worlds. But, maybe what they need is a she instead of a star to bring them some light, huh? I can't wait to find out. The line forms here...
