The army taught me to kill.
Every flex of hard earned muscle was for my country. I didn’t need shit else except my rifle, my brothers, and the enemy. I was born to fight.
Then the military cut me loose.
Civilian life. Two words dirtier than the bloodshed downrange. I didn’t want my freedom.
I wanted my goddamn purpose back. I wanted my government issued rifle in my hands. I wanted to taste the grit of foreign soil. I wanted to fight until I drew my last breath…
Then she crossed in front of my path—carrying our child.

“Whether I wanted to face it or not, I was scarred and broken. Certainly no good for her.”
I’m kinda going out of order, but once I started reading the author’s Demented Sons MC – Texas series I couldn’t help but want to go back to where it all began. Now I’m addicted and feel the need to binge read until I catch up. If only there were more hours in a day, right?
The synopsis is a big tease. It put ideas in my head and I tortured myself while reading, waiting for what I hoped was gonna happen, to happen. The anticipation had me giddy as I imagined all the possible scenarios, each better than the last, and none of them as good as the reality. That’s why the author writes and I read. 😉
There are so many things I loved about this story…but I can’t tell you about them. It’s the waiting and wondering that create the build-up that feels so wonderful when you are finally satisfied. I wouldn’t want to deprive you of even a second of that enjoyment. But, I do want to express how much I adore the characters in this story. They cover every letter of the alphabet from A-dorable to Z-any with plenty of broken and badass to fill in the gaps.
My heart broke and melted a time or twenty as I experienced life through Colton’s eyes. In case I haven’t made it clear yet, I floved this story hard. I can’t wait to start reading Mason’s Resolution. The line forms here…
