The Wright One picked right up as if I'd just turned the next page. But I have to give the author credit for the nice cliffhanger ending in the previous book. It kept me excited to get to the next one. I was really intrigued by David's big secret and wanted to know more about the details that he risked everything to keep hidden. But at the same time, disclosing it could be risking everything too. I can kinda see his dilemma when it could be a lose/lose situation.

As mentioned after reading the first book, I love the Wright family! They are big and noisy and nosy but full of love and laughter. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of their anger and didn't envy David when he ended up in that position. But in spite of everything, I never swayed in my #TeamDavid  support. I have believed from the get-go that he is the Wright One. Sutton, on the other hand, has been on the receiving end of my frustration. Yeah, I know it's bad of me to feel that way about a grieving widow, but I bet I'm not the only one, right?

Let's recap, okay? Sutton admitted to herself that David was, "Well over six feet tall with a dazzling smile. A body that showed he worked out religiously. He would definitely survive a zombie apocalypse with the amount of time he spent running every day. I knew for a fact that he had six-pack abs and muscles in all the right places to make me swoon. That V that led south was my undoing." Yeah, I'd be undone too. And let's not forget that as far as he's concerned, she hung the moon. They seem perfect for each other, Wright?

But maybe his 'secret' was too much for her to forgive and forget. Maybe life had dealt her too many blows already and she wasn't strong enough to handle more disappointment. Maybe trust and taking risks was no longer in her bag of tricks and being a mother convinced her that living life with a safety net was the only way to go. I admit it. I was encouraging her otherwise. Whispering in her ear to remember the 'V' and to let him take her back to her happy place. Again, I was ignored...

It wasn't until I started reading the first book in this duet that I realized there were more Wright books out there. And then I met Penn and Ren who are not even Wrights, but they still need their own story. Way to pull in your readers K.A.
