She had me at the first sentence of this book. Nothing like an attention getter to have you engrossed immediately. And I stayed that way until the very last page. Vanishing Act was like a mini-vacation for me. It took me away from my endless To-Do-List, allowing me to relax and enjoy myself as I enacted my own vanishing act, with my ‘Do Not Disturb’ swag hanging on the door of my reading room.
Landon decided to escape the pressure of his frantic and overwhelming public life by hiding out for a while, keeping his destination and his identity a secret. Determined to take the time to wind down and to pursue something that he’d been wanting to do for a long time, in privacy. He was enjoying his anonymity, and the freedom of an existence without technology. He wasn’t tempted to see what the media was saying about him, he didn’t care. He didn’t have to listen to his phone ringing, he left it back home. He didn’t have to smile, or answer questions, or pretend he cared. He didn’t have to do anytning he didn’t want to. marshmallows. Sit back and get lost with Landon. Trust me, it won’t be hard. Well, that might be hard, but I was talking about getting lost. Get your mind out of the gutter!Vanishing Act was sexy and sweet, fun and flirty, and sometimes sad and suspenseful. It was exciting to wait for certain revelations to occur, making every page turn a possibility, but not a guarantee. I fell in love with some of the support characters, especially that vistor that set things in motion. It was a very satisfying read that left me with a smile on my face.
